SALOOM NEW ENGLAND
The dining table is the heart of your home, it’s where you share family meals, have celebrations, and help with homework. Something so important should fit your style and be built to last. Saloom Furniture is handcrafted by our New England artisans who take pride in their work and in building a dining set made just for you. “Our mission is to make great furniture, create quality jobs, and be a positive influence in the community.” Peter & Linda Saloom
Saloom table tops are made using the highest grade of solid maple and cherry hardwoods. They apply a high performance catalyzed conversion varnish top coat to all furniture, which provides moisture control and water and chemical resistance. Expert finishers apply by hand deluxe multi-step finishes.
Solid brass leaf pins on table leaves ensure precise alignment of table halves and leaves. Leaf gap covers give a clean appearance with no empty spaces in the table apron. Most tables will self-store one leaf underneath the table top.
Chair frames feature mortise and tenon joint construction with locking grooved corner blocks, for super strong long lasting joints. “Soflex” upholstered seats are made with high-quality webbing and high-density foam, for a cushion that is both comfortable and durable.
Reducing the environmental impact is a core value of Saloom Furniture Company. We incorporate these values into all areas of the business including the manufacturing process, materials, and in new product development. Since understanding the term “Green” when purchasing furniture can be confusing, Saloom keeps it simple and provides you with the facts regarding our practices so that you can make an informed decision and understand how your Saloom Furniture purchase impacts the environment.
Perhaps the most important factor to consider in your furniture purchase is the investment you are making in a quality piece of furniture that will last for generations. This means that it will not end up as waste in a landfill, like cheaper, “disposable” furniture.
Environmental laws and regulations in the United States are among the most stringent in the world. Therefore, when you purchase furniture that is made in the USA you are assured that it adheres to these strict requirements. “American Made” also means that your furniture is not transported across oceans, which adds to energy consumption and air pollution.
Almost all the material in Saloom products is maple that is grown in the North Eastern United States, where forestry regulation and practices are strong, and maple resources are robust.
